Abstract: The paper postulates and presents an online model of CMC Activities (OCA) in terms of sets of qualitative and quantitative properties of groups of CMC users and individuals. The quantitative properties are defined as freqeucy counts of lexical uses, syntactic and discourse preferences of users with an essential Interconnectivity Value (IV), representing the number and frequencies of individual connections between respective users. The latter is graphically visualised with the use of Gephi tools. Both classes of features represent an Overall CMC activity of each individual user. The characteristics are taken as a point of reference in tracing the (un)chaning attitudes and sentiments of groups of users in political discussions exemplified with pre-parliamentary election materials and comments in English and Polish blogs and Usenet. The paper discusses the phenomena of blurring the boundaries in a number of traditionally accepted language and discourse classificatory schemes.
