Call for COST conference grant for early-stage researchers

The COST instrument “Conference Grant for Early-Stage Researchers” (ESR) provides direct financial support for the participation of early-stage researchers in international conferences as a means of capacity-building.

Please find in attachment the call and the application form. Only one application per Action can be submitted to the COST Office. In case several applications are submitted, the chair and the vice chair of the Action will select one candidate. Their decision will then be confirmed by the steering group.

Please note that:
- the conference grant should be used for a conference outside the activities of our Action.
- PhD students are NOT eligible to conference grants. The COST Office defines an Early Stage Researcher as "PhD plus 8 years".

The application (application form and three annexes) should be submitted to the chair of the Action, Geoffroy Patriarche (patriarche@fusl.ac.be), by Wednesday 22 May 2013.

Further information about the application can be requested to Luule Mizera, COST Science Officer, at: luule.mizera@cost.eu.

The COST Office announces that Dr Annamaria BIANCHI from the University of Bergamo of Action IS1004 “WEBDATANET: web-based data-collection - methodological challenges, solutions and implementations” has been selected for the January-2013-Call of the ESR Conference Grant. The grant of 3,000 EUR was awarded to enable Dr BIANCHI to present a paper on “Responsive design for web panel data collection” at the AAPOR 68th Annual Conference, 16-19 May 2013 in Boston, USA.
